DESCRIPTION: \n\n  \n\n\n\n\n  \nHistory and Significance: \nOn 5th June 1872\, on Phalaharini Kali-puja night\, Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna worshipped Sarada Devi as Shodashi\, the Mother of the Universe. The Mother of the Universe is variously worshipped —as Durga\, Kali\, Tara\, Shodashi and so on. But\, in his room\, he uttered the “mantras” which are related to Shodashi and worshipped Sarada Devi duly with flowers\, bel leaves and sweets\, among other things.

SUMMARY:Ekadashi / Ram Naam Sankirtanam
DESCRIPTION:Ekadasi is one of the regular festivals celebrated in all centres of the Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission across the world and Ramnama Sankirtanam is sung by the congregation on this day. \nThe singing of this Sankirtanam was started by Srimat Swami Brahmanandaji Maharaj who was the spiritual son of Sri Ramakrishna. He was also the first President of the Ramakrishna Sangha. \nOnce during the singing of the Sankirtanam in the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama at Varanasi\, Swami Brahmanandaji Maharaj had the Darshan of Sri Hanuman. \nThe 108 slokas of the Ramnama Sankirtanam\, contain a brief and succinct description of the Divine Play of Maryada Purshottam Sri Rama – as if the ocean has been filled into a small pot! (The cassette/ CD for the Ramnama Sankirtanam is also available at the bookshop.) \nThe Ramnama Sankirtanam would be streamed live one hour before evening arati on our youtube channel www.youtube.com/rkmkhar
